Craniosacral Therapy
A Gentle Approach to Profound Healing
Craniosacral Therapy Overview
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch manual therapy that supports your body’s innate ability to heal. CST addresses pain, compensation and tension patterns, dysfunction, and degeneration of the brain and spinal cord, nerves, body tissues, joints, and cells. It is a hands-on method of whole body evaluation and treatment that can have a positive impact on every system of the body.
How do I know if I need CST?
Craniosacral Therapy works directly with the various structures, systems, and functions of the body, from the most superficial layer, to the deepest inner workings of individual cells. When we are experiencing complications in the body, it all stems back to the brain and spinal cord, as well as, the tissues and fluids surrounding them.

Our Approach & What to Expect at Your Visit
Craniosacral Therapy goes beyond treating symptoms and focuses on locating and healing the source of problems. Our bodies have the ability to heal. We just need to give them the right environment and help they need to get there.
What happens in a CST session?
During a CST session, clients rest comfortably on a cozy treatment table and remain fully clothed. No oils, lotions, products, or tools are used. The practitioner uses her hands to gently evaluate and treat compromised areas of the body using light pressure.

Why is CST a "light touch" modality?
The body consists of various densities. Something like a muscle is more dense compared to a fluid which is less dense. When working with the electrical and fluid nature of the body, less pressure is needed. Imagine resting your hand in a moving body of water. If you grab it, there is no way to accurately determine the temperature, the properties, or the speed. But, if you just hold your hand flat and wait, you will be able to precisely determine those properties. Less is more.
How many sessions are needed?
Due to the unique circumstances of every person’s symptoms and conditions, the number of sessions you may need will completely depend on your current circumstances, goals, and overall health. After your new client visit, the typical recommendation would be 3-6 visits on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule to see the best results and to determine future sessions.
What does it feel like receiving CST?
Clients routinely report feeling incredibly relaxed and sometimes fall asleep during the session. Other experiences have included an incredible sense of peace and calm, subtle sensations or body movements, discussion of life events related to the area of the body being addressed, or a release of emotions.
